Coaching + Training
Group Coaching
I inspire nonprofit leaders to support and leverage the strengths of your teams so you can be more productive, experience greater wellbeing, and create greater mission impact.
What coaching clients are saying…
“Finding Lisa was like stumbling upon a warm, dry, well-made cabin while lost in a cold and miserable winter storm. Sessions with Lisa kept my spirits up, but my feet on the ground. Every time I left our session with new hope, ideas, resources, and connections. Exactly what I needed in a year that had more downs than ups. Absolutely recommend coaching sessions with Lisa, because even when things are going right, you never know what gems she'll bestow upon you next.”

Step #1 Understand what’s really happening
By the end of this step your organization will have a clear picture of the gap between your stated values and your lived culture and you will understand the root systems at work underneath it. You will stop blaming yourself, your people, or outside forces, and start seeing the system clearly for the first time. This will help you focus on what is within your power and what you have influence over so you can put your energy where it will be most effective.
Step #2 See the bigger picture
By the end of this step you will have systemic literacy… an understanding of how patriarchy, capitalism, colonialism and neoliberalism are running quietly underneath your culture. You will also have identified your community of practice so that you can tap into the people and relationships that will resource this work going forward. You won’t have to do this alone.
Shift it
Step #3 Have the conversations that change everything
By the end of this step you and your leadership team will have the tools and the container to have the honest conversations you might be avoiding. Courageous conversations with each other, with your staff, and about what needs to shift. You will know how to host dignified dialogue, how to give and receive feedback, and how to be corrected with grace so that you can start creating the conditions for a more engaged team.
Step #4 Lead from Strength, Not Fear
By the end of this step your organization will have shifted from deficit-based to strengths-based practices, seeing and naming the unique gifts every person brings. You will have moved from scarcity thinking to abundance thinking in how you assess, support and develop your people so you can all focus on delivering the mission of your organization as a cohesive unit.
Sustain it
Step #5 Build systems that hold change
By the end of this step your organization will have replaced extractive policies with relational agreements co-created with your staff, not handed down. You will have accountability mechanisms and a feedback loop that includes your most vulnerable voices so that you have a structure that holds the culture work after the program ends.
Your organization will have developed resilience strategies that help adapt to challenges and changes without compromising core values. You learn how to manage stress and uncertainty so you can ensure long-term sustainability and employee well-being.
Your organization will also implement inclusive practices that celebrate diversity, fostering an environment where every individual feels valued and heard so that you can enhance creativity, innovation, and collaboration across all levels.
Step #6: Become the leader your mission needs
By the end of this step you will have fully embodied your values as a leader, not as an aspiration on a wall, but as the way you actually work every day. You will leave this program as a leader who sees the systems, shifts the culture, and creates the conditions to grow a workplace so that everyone's gifts are the engine of your mission.
You will also have established metrics for monitoring cultural progress and systems for celebrating achievements so that continuous improvement and reinforced positive behavior keep the momentum alive within the organization.
By the end of the program, you will have empowered leaders at all levels who contribute actively to maintaining a thriving culture. Your organization will leverage collective wisdom for problem-solving and decision so you can have lasting impact beyond the program duration.

Learning
We create free and paid customized training content so nonprofit leaders and engagement practitioners can build on the strengths in the room and embed equity in your work using trauma-informed approaches. Exploring decolonized ways of being in conversation with staff and communities, our training includes real-world examples, participatory small group exercises, and introspective practices, while providing you with a toolbox so you can continue building on what you learned.
““I feel braver and bolder from the experience of being in your sessions.”
”The workshop made visible some of the systemic dynamics at play in our work, including power over dynamics, dominant system forces such as urgency, deep trust vs shallow trust and trauma as a shared experience. It felt like a human-first, big picture look at the challenges we face. I’ve completed Indigenous engagement courses through IAP2 which were heavy on tools and techniques, but this course went deeper and wider and therefore was a better foundation for this work.”
“The learning around bravery has been transformative in this workshop - you modelled what it takes to do equitable engagement.”
”The resources shared are thought provoking. There’s an incredible amount of information.””
