Testimonials

Praise for our Beyond Consultation: Co-Creating Equitable Communities course…

“Together Lisa and Wendy created a warm and genuine learning environment, an excellent space for growth to happen.”

“I feel braver and bolder from the experience of being in your sessions.”

"The workshop made visible some of the systemic dynamics at play in our work, including power over dynamics, dominant system forces such as urgency, deep trust vs shallow trust and trauma as a shared experience. It felt like a human-first, big picture look at the challenges we face. I've completed Indigenous engagement courses through IAP2 which were heavy on tools and techniques, but this course went deeper and wider and therefore was a better foundation for this work."

“The learning around bravery has been transformative in this workshop - you modelled what it takes to do equitable engagement.”

"“The resources shared are thought provoking. There’s an incredible amount of information.”

Strategic Planning

Our strategic planning integrates principles of Justice, Equity, Diversity, Disability, and Inclusion (JEDDI) to drive systemic change. Engaging across your organization’s community, the resulting plans detail clear goals and measurable objectives. We develop detailed action plans with specific roles, timelines, and priorities (Who, When, Priority) to ensure measurable results and lasting organizational impact.

Planning + Research

Informed policy planning is at the core of Resilience Planning’s services. We work closely with clients at various planning scales to collaborate with community members to learn what they need, complete background research, and identify relevant case studies that address any number of planning topics including: equitable communities, climate crisis, housing, social well-being, transportation, and their interconnectedness.

Relationship building + Facilitation

Resilience Planning is skilled at collaborating to understand community needs and reflect those needs in policy plans. We collaborate with clients to identify and map community groups with different experiences and backgrounds. Then, with clients and community members, we define the plan or project vision and values while building relationships and partnerships with them. This helps to inform planning projects and build community capacity to act as project champions for successful implementation.

We also know that planning work can be complex at times, so we engage and collaborate with clients and communities early to work through challenging planning conversations.

Training + Development

We create customized training content that helps engagement practitioners embed equity in their work, use trauma-informed approaches, and explore decolonized ways of being in conversation with communities. Our training includes real-world examples, participatory small group exercises, and introspective practices, while sharing toolkits to continue building on what you learned.

Project Management

With over 15 years of project management experience leading major policy plans, capital projects, and small planning projects alike, Resilience Planning helps clients deliver projects on time, on budget, and to your satisfaction, to meet the needs of your community, internal departments, and council. We identify potential project risks early and develop mitigation strategies. We use regular project meetings to discuss project progress, challenges, and implement risk mitigation strategies, so the project is delivered successfully.

Leadership Coaching

We work closely with leadership in client groups early in planning processes to help visualize the opportunities and impacts of planning exercises as well as discuss and overcome challenges and barriers to implementation so that decision-making going forward successfully adheres to the goals of the plan.
